THE OPENING LINE FOR THIS VOLUME IS…

“There was something wrong with the moon tonight…”

The Prologue Project is now open for submissions! Each issue begins with a bold first line—we provide the spark, and you bring the fire. Whether you're a seasoned author or an emerging voice, we want to see how you take our prompt and shape it into something unforgettable.

If you’re interested in seeing your work published in The Prologue Project, please fill out the form below and attach your story in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx, or .pdf.

We accept poetry (1-5 poems per submission), flash fiction (up to 1,000 words), and short stories (up to 6,000 words).

While we are not a paying publication at this time, authors selected for publication will receive a complimentary copy of the printed magazine—an opportunity to see your work and author bio in print and hold it in your hands.

Submissions for the first volume close on September 1, 2025
